"As she sits in quiet solitude in the courthouse stairwell, she's reminded of her demons. She's a loner. She's a fighter. She's a survivor. She's a warrior. She's independent. She's a liar. " ::Post Psycho Therapist::
It wasn't just the summer wind cascading through her hair, in the South Dakota Plains, that took her breath away. /Set in 2011, three years after Undercover./
He left the job but he didn't leave her. He would never do that. He didn't set foot in the 1-6 again for years after that fatal shooting in May of 2011, but how could he leave her after all those years together? If the past twelve years had proven anything, it was that their friendship was unbreakable. So what really happened aside from what was shown on screen?
A case from the past comes back to haunt the squad--one that brings everyone back together again.
Alcohol. Sleeping pills. Cigarette burns. Wire coat hanger. Olivia's mouth felt dry. There was no need to say the name out loud. They were all thinking it. Lewis. Her voice broke. "That's impossible. He's dead."
He was pronounced dead. And then he came back to life.
The words replayed themselves in her mind, and Olivia felt the panic start to grip her. The tears, desperate to escape, burned behind her eyelids. Her breath began to quicken again. "There has to be some other explanation." Her words were raspy when spoken. She could feel herself fighting...fighting for a clarity that had disappeared the moment that she had received that fateful call that Vanessa Mayer's body had been found.
Rage has always followed Elliot, fifty years and change of it tugging at the tail of his coat like a needy child. And now Olivia is here and Kathy is dead and he spends his days ricocheting between the need to make things right with his old partner and the bone-shaking shock of a world without his wife.
The way I see Elliot and Olivia finding a way to be together today. For me, it's who they are now and how they manage their past.

Being a single woman and being a single mom are universes apart.
The lights, however, remain on; a tell tale sign that while Costco is close to shutting down for the night, it has yet to do so. She's about to say something when the room goes dark. Lights flicker off.
They’d learned each other’s quirks and intricacies on the job—but when did it become over the line? When did physicality become a detriment to them once they’ve taken off their shields? When did they realize the line in the sand no longer existed? (This is meant to take place a couple weeks after “Zebras” – had to assume a timeline, I don’t remember actual dates)

"Yes, I killed him." Olivia's voice dropped to a whisper. "I'm sorry." She stood up slowly and took a step closer toward the desk. Moving carefully so as not to startle him, she set her badge and her gun on the edge of his desk and turned her back away from him before he could see the tears swimming in her eyes. "Go ahead, Captain," she whispered quietly.
Cragen took her arm gently and slipped the handcuffs over her wrist. As he spoke, his voice was completely void of emotion. "Olivia Benson, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do can be held against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you..."
When Olivia finds herself on the roof of the 1-6, memories start flooding back.

"I knew you wouldn't have taken that shot," he whispers into the quiet room. "I wanted to believe that because it was easier, but I knew."
She knows the answer, before she even asks. "How?"
"Because." Elliot rests his lips against hers, his words lost against her open mouth. "I would have done the same thing."
